Hurricane Earl Chase Account Below:
Chase Account: This was my first Hurricane documentation in over 2 years and I was a bit nervous staying on a barrier island for a Cat-4 hurricane that was threatening to make a direct hit. Luckily for the residents of the outer banks Hurricane Earl's center missed by about 90 miles and the worst winds stayed offshore. The big story for Cape Hatteras was the Pamlico sound rising and flooding the island. Most homes on the outer banks are on stilts so the had no issues but some of the businesses did get flooded, but this is nothing new for them. They just clean up and move on. I guess this is a small price to pay for living at such a beautiful place.

It was an honor to work with The Weather Channel and to actually chase with Jim Cantore. We ended up seeing a top wind gusts of 78mph and some moderate flooding at our location. Jim was able to broadcast to his audience "Live" during the strongest winds of Earl and share with the world what is was like out there. I hope this leads to many more partnerships with TWC and the NBC affiliates.
